  • 2013 Eco-Boost

Considering buying a 2013 F150 Ec0-boost, but I hear that people are having wheel hop issues. Anyone have a truck or know somone whos also had this issue and what parts they put on it to fix it ?

    Thanks

Never heard about this, my buddy has one and I love it. Ride is pretty damn smooth even with 22s on it.
    Wanna see my care face???

mileage is not as advertised.... not even close. Get the 5L and enjoy the same mileage w/ v8 sound!

Never heard of the wheel hop issue. I know mine doesn't do that. I'm happy with the ecoboost and mine gets 17 to 19mpg real world driving.

I had a 2011 and never had any problems. This is the first I have heard about wheel hop.

I averaged 19 to 22mpg driving to work everyday and that's with a heavy foot...

My 2011 with 18's had wheel hop, but it was a hit and miss thing with it. Mileage was as promised when I first bought it, then went down hill, but I drove it less and stayed on the pedal more. It was a fun truck, other than the random rear lock up at 30mph it did at 3,000 to 5,000 miles(dealer checked it and couldn't find an issue.) I did not have a single problem with it at 42,000 miles when I traded it in.

Any other known issues? Been looking at a 2013 FX2 ecoboost.

It is between that and a dodge but I like Ford more so trying to stick with Ford.

My 2012 f-150 ecoboost doesnt have a wheel hop issue. Super Crew 4 x 4.

They are nice trucks, pulls very nice for a gas motor

No wheel hop on my previous '11. The bed does move a lot though on rough roads.

Yep, impossible with a heavy foot. We have about 5 Ecoboost trucks here at work and the overall mileage is around 16mpg mixed. Not that great honestly. That said, it CAN get decent mileage cruising at a lower speed on the highway and they do have some strong towing/pulling power, so overall it's a nice engine.
