Brand new o2 sensors when I installed the longtubes.
god, reading about people staring at their wbo2 gauge makes me so glad hptuners datalogs actual afr (wbo2) vs. desired o2 then creates a histogram of % error in each cell. makes it too easy. i've got no o2 sensors and it stays dead nuts at 14.5-15.0 idle/cruise.

point being, ditch that archaic engine/ecu and 5.3 that bia bia

Perhaps the longtubes are causing your issues. I personally run longtubes without issue, but I suppose it can be a problem. I was always under the impression that due to the reduction in heat to the oxygen sensors that occours when running longtubes, they don't swich like they should. This causes the vehicle to go into open loop and run off the base fuel tables. I think this only applies to idle conditions though. Why not tap into the oxygen sensor wires and run some leads to the side of the car where you can sit down and hook up a digital multimeter. After the car is warm you should start to see the sensors switch and this will be apparent by watching the voltage swing up and down. Test both sides and see if they are both working correctly or at least both swinging the voltage up and down.

It isn't the lack of heat. It's a problem because the 02 sensors are farther away than in stock. There is a time delay parameter in the ECU that needs to be changed so the short term fuel trims are correctly adjusted. It also makes sense that it ran fine for a while until the short term trims changed the long terms.. then melted a plug.

            ^will do today.

Will these work with my brodix? I already have the reducers in the heads.

If I have to replace the head gasket........

Actually I believe it is caused by a lack of heat when moving the sensor further downstream. The cure is to delay the switch time to allow the sensor to get hotter before entering closed loop. Reducing the timing can also create more heat to help with this. Ideally, would be to force openn loop at idle and set the timing/AFr with a vacume gauge. Then just leave it in open loop where load is less than 30%. I don't know if you are having issues only at igle, but if you are this is likely the issue.

Actually we are both right. The ECU actually detects individual exhaust pulses, and without the correct delay set, it doesnt know which cylinder is which.

Honesty didn't hear or feel anything.

Ive had my car do this twice before, it will stumble and run like ass until you turn it off for a few minutes. After that it would be fine, I'm thinking it started to miss from the already weak gasket, and nitrous happen to be present at the time, which added the boom bitch to the gasket which then leaned the cylinder from excess air and melted the plug.

                      That's my theory!
