  • Boom bitch!!!!

Ran a 470rwhp cobra, had a nose on him and then it started to run like ass. Was misfiring and wideband showed 15:1 (cruising not on spray) its normally 13.6:1. So I limped it home and started getting after it.

At first I thought it was a blown headgasket, because I'm getting bubbles in the coolant with the cap off, car has done that since day one but it's worse no.

It never popped or detonated, and there isn't any blow by.

Luckily the heads will be on in a week or so.

What causes this? Any input? Going to change the plugs tomorrow and see what it does. This was on the 125.

It was running good! I have maybe 1 full bottle on those plugs. Hopefully it's just the plugs, who knows.

As long as the short block is good, that's all I care about.

You seriously have to ask what causes this???

                Google is your friend.

Also, did you have anyone tune it or just strap the bottle on and go?

Tune it? I figure changing the plugs, backing down timing and having a 255lph should be enough to compensate.

So the answer is No you didn't have it tuned.

How is that working out for you now?

You don't have to have a custom tune to run nitrous on these cars.. Don't be stupid.

Hey man, do your own thing. I'm not the one with melted spark plugs wondering why they are melted after pouring nitrous to a motor. I'm sure you don't need a custom tune to run nitrous, but probably wouldn't hurt. Maybe save that motor just a little longer.

But like I said, do your own thing. I am just waiting for the thread you start when the motor actually does go "BOOM".

                              Thanks for the positive vibes.

From googling, a lot of plugs melt the electrode. Mine is fine, just the strap melted.
