Well upon further inspection, it wasn't the cam phasers, it was the LIFTERS or LASH ADJUSTERS whatever you want to call it. I would like to know what I should expect to pay to get them replaced and how much they can be had for? Is anyone willing to help do this for unlimited beer, I have some cash just not as much as it takes to take it to a dealership or mechanic (You have to know what your doing as I can unscrew alot of shit, but putting it back together is another story)!

      Really hard to explain, lol.
The way i look at it, new cam phasers do not make noise. If the old ones are "noisey" i would replace them. I know thats easy for me to say seeing that i would be able to replace them myself if i had a 5.4 3V. Even then, the cam phasers are around $300 each.

Most of the time when they are making just a little noise, the only time you can here it is if you are in a drive through and have the window down or here it from outside the truck (usually you can only hear them from standing at the side of the truck). If it is loud enough to hear it from inside the truck i would say they need to be replaced.

I am in S. Fort Worth and would be more than happy to listen to it and tell you what i think if you wanted to bring it by.
