  • 2012 gt vibrations!!!

i have just Hell with this thing. After first gear install i had horrible vibes. So i was told i needed a new shaft, so i bought a shaft master 1 piece. Still not fixed. Long story short i picked the car up from the ford dealer with a new housing and all new parts inside as well. And yes i put new gears in to. Well vibes are still there. Holly Hell someone help me. Vibes are around 60+ mph. Really bad at 80+.

Did you already try another set of wheels and tires?

If not the wheels and tires I would suspect a pinion angle issue.

Are you still on the OE control arms?

From the front or rear? Are you feeling it in the steering wheel or your ass?

Get it up on jackstands and get it up to speed. I'm going to guess one of these: bent wheel, tire out of round, bent axle, pinion angle, wheel not hubcentric.

Not the wheels..have two sets. Not an axle...those are new along with housing, dif, gears etc. I am using sphon adjustable upper and lowers. I have not looked at the angle and ford did not look either. Any body know what it needs to be? I am running K springs if it makes a difference. Vibes are under my ass for the most part.

I would guess pinion angle in you changed out the uppers and lowers.

Not sure what the angles are supposed to be, but on my car, I am running a Griggs Racing Watts link and torque arm and when adjusting pinion angle, if I don't get the angles within about 0.5 degrees of each other, I will pick up a little vibration.

Best thing to do is get an angle finder, or you can buy a digital level with an angle finder. find some flat spots on the diff and tranny and see what you are at. Adjust accordingly.

The problems started before it was lowered or the control arms. Shits got to go.

How does the steering wheel feel when you start getting the vibration? Is it shaking all over or can you feel the vibes in the steering wheel?

No. It ia definitely a drivetrain issue.

Damn. How about motor mounts or maybe tranny mount? Could it be something in the tranny?

How about the Ford dealer? Same guy setup the diff and gears both times? I am going to assume this is still under warranty?

No. First time was a individual and second and third...lol...finally said to Hell with it and took it to the dealer. It is under warranty. It only has 2600 miles. But it is modded so i don't want to press my luck.

... don't mod a car while trying to find vibration issues.... especially when under warranty.
