  • ATTN: all ford owners. with sync...

i decided to make a new thread. after having issues with my sync system.

after resting my battery my sync fucked up 30min later. "autoplay unavailable" "indexing"
i found a common link as to what was causing my issues. if i started watching videos on my iphone. while it's connected to the USB and listening to music from the phone at the same time. that would cause my sync system to fuck up,

    "the solution"
unplug your iphone from in car USB. close all apps. then click on music icon on your iphone.
while the music is playing on ur phone. plug in your in car USB to ur phone. that's it...

don't know if this works on other phones.
just thought its easier then fucking with the battery in freezing ass cold. this way you're inside ur car outta the cold.

let me know how this works out for ya'll.

Cal Naughton, Jr.: Hey, when you have the stereo and TV on, how do you change the volume on the stereo?

Ricky Bobby: "If you have the stereo on..." Why do you have the stereo on while you're watching TV?

Cal Naughton, Jr.: 'Cause I like to party.

Same thing for me: I get in the car, connect my Bluetooth to SYNC, begin playing music. I then turn the car off and get out. Now, upon re-entering the car, SYNC will not detect my Bluetooth device. I have to turn Bluetooth off on my phone, turn the car off, turn my Bluetooth back on then start the car again. This has to be done in order for me to listen to music, otherwise the car will never detect the phone.

I learned the problem is if you are using SYNC and exit the car while SYNC/Bluetooth are connected that the car will not "relearn" the connection. So, the work around is that if I am listening to music, I have to stop the music on my phone before exiting the car, this prevents you from having to reset the connection between your device and the car....

SUCKS for a system and a $30k car...you would think everything would work.

update your sync! Neither our 2013 Mustang or 2011 F150 (after updating) do this.

                            2011 F150 W/sync and Nav

Problem 1: You could make call through Sync but you could not hear the person and they could not hear you. If you clicked "privacy" you could here them through the phone.

Problem 2: Using command "bluetooth audio" would cause the following: It would tell me no bluetooth device found. Then a message would pop up saying bluetooth device disconnected. I would have to go into phone setting on screeen and manually reconnect.

Solution: I went to Sync site and registered the vehicle. It immediately told me I needed to update the truck. I plugged in my USB jump drive into computer and downloaded update file. Went out to the truck and followed instructions.

Sync works perfect now. It makes calls just as it should and plays the music after telling it "bluetooth audio". We thought we had some major serious problems and were a little discouraged. We were relieved that a little research and an update fixed it.

***I had talked to a service advisor and he told me they keep a bay full everyday just updating peoples sync. You can do it yourself pretty easy and it solves 99% of all problems with sync. He said it's a Microsoft product, update it every 3 months lol.
