It is really easy to hit the revlimiter in any car with a stick, leave it in gear and floor.

Soap, this is the first time you opened your car up and you want to remove a function the keeps your engine at a safe speed? Neejerk reaction much?

What the fuck are you doing over there?

        What does that even mean?

With the car idling in your driveway, foot on the brake, hold down the Traction Control button for ~10 seconds until ADVANCETRAC OFF appears on the dash. Do this anytime there is even a modest chance that you will want to race somebody.... or you might want to drop a gear and pass a Prius. Ford's traction control is the worst in the world; anytime I take it to fourth and hit it on the highway, the car will fall flat on its face until I let off the throttle. It's irritating and it's dangerous.

Surely this is what you describe. If you're really leaving the car in second gear until it bangs off the rev limiter during a race, you fucking SUCK at driving.

how can you hate something that saves your motor

I started racing before there were rev limiters. The rev limiter built into stock cars was the points. Points would float around 5000 rpm and stop rpm from going over that. The after market distributors had heavy springs on the points and had dual points on a 4 lobe cam so each set open and closed at 1/2 speed and wouldn't float. The corvette used dual points with heavier springs and 8 lobes.
mis a gear in some of those cars and you were replacing the motor if the lifters didn't float and stop the rpm.
When I raced small block chevys with 4 speeds missing a gear ment 9500-10,000 and broken / bent valves. Rev limiters are Gods gift to racers

Don't worry about what you can't change.

I don't have any issues like that from my TC/SC. I can floor it in any gear, and not get the cut out unless the wheel spin gets WAY out of control.

Wait a minute, shouldn't 2nd take you to 65-70mph? Why would it do anything but accelerate at 40mph?

You can't appreciate a rev limited or fuel cutoff until you've bent some push rods. Then you're glad it's there.
