  • Stock shortblock! Who's got one!

I'd like an 87-92 xxx shortblock.

I need something stock, a 306 would be oka if it has decent pistons in it.

87-92 ho motors only, due to the forged pistons and my lust for nitrous.

Needing this to put my heads cam and intake on.

Whiteboy has a 306 in that one section where people post stuff they have for sale, and others post stuff they are wanting to buy...

          No boom. Lol

Haven't really driven the car besides to work and back for the last few days. Been staring at my brodix and systemax and getting antsy.

That 306 has some goofy looking pistons. Probably blow a hole in those bitches.

Why not put what you've got on your existing motor then?

Lemme guess, you bent a rod while the engine wasn't running?

I know latemodel has fresh shortblocks with upgraded pistons. You might see what they'll do for you.

How the hell would I manage that?

Because it is my only car and I can't take the motor out and drive to work. Lol

Stack all your parts, and do the HCI swap on a weekend thrash. Ask for help, and provide beer & BBQ for said help.

If it takes him a weekend, he's doing it wrong. That's something that you should be able to tackle in hours, if you aren't a tard.

Problem is the time off. I have 2 weeks paid vacation but cannot use it because there isn't any coverage if I leave.

Have to pull the engine, throw it on a stand. Clean the engine bay up while I have all the room. I have a age k id like to swap it but need tubular a arms first.

Build the motor and drop it in.. And get it tuned for the lightning maf and 24# injecturds.

All of that can be done in a weekend, if you itemize and organize tasks, then break up the work between you, and the buddies you're paying in beer & BBQ. Stack parts, plan plan plan, plan more, go over the plan with everyone, revise the plan as necessary and according to the skillet and quantity of your helpers, make sure everyone knows their tasks, and attack.

Ive done it both ways, complete long block on the stand that I had to swap the intake, pan, front cover, etc and done HCI in car. Takes the same amount of time, in the end.
