  • Fox Header Gaskets

My buddy bought an 89 coupe and the header gaskets are shot and need to be replaced. It has BBK shorty headers on it. What gaskets does everyone recommend? He'll drop some coin on better ones if they last longer and are less prone to leak.

I always just got the graphite ones. Nothing special.

Buy good header bolts, prob is usually solved.

Thanks. I'm looking for a brand/part recommendation. For example, on my Impala I used Fel-Pro 1406 gaskets. I have no idea on the port shape or anything else about Ford heads.

Stop by Oriellys and buy a set of Fel-Pro 1514.
Unless there are warpage or mating surface issues, and as long as you retorque a couple of times after a couple of heat cycles, you'll never have problems.

Same gasket for headers as factory exhaust manifolds?

User i always got the stock graphite mr gasket from orielys or vatozone.

Those 1415's will work just fine.

Bbk's have a thick flange, so like said re tq them often, or buy better bolts.

And yes you have to tighten the bolts every now and again. Not a big deal though.
