  • What kind of cooling fan?

What kind of aftermarket/ universal cooling fan do you have in your car? Dual or single? Witch one is better?
Just bought a aluminum dual row rad for my mustang and need to buy a rad fan and just want to know what I should get. Looking at a single puller fan that flows 2800cfm.
And also what psi rad cap should I get?

It's probably that shitty (Chevy) stuff causing you issues. Take it back to the junkyard and while there, get a Contour v6 dual electric fan.

Well, might not help you much with my setup, but here it is.

In my 68 Coupe, 351, I have a foxbody 3 row radiator, and Focus dual fan assembly on a relay with a manual switch so I can run it with the car off if I want. No other shroud, 160 t'stat, stock replacement fox serp water pump. I've had no problems so far. I kick it on at 180.

x2 with a 2 stage thermo switch; worked great.

Another vote for the dual oem fan setup from a contour/focus/cougar. They fit mustang radiators perfectly, flow a shit ton of air, and are low clearance (like 3" depth).

The 3.8L Taurus fan flows about 3700 CFM at 33 amps.

The Mark VIII moves 4300 CFM at 28 amps.

                    stolen from a member lol.

taurus fan/mark 8 same motor assembly

mark 8 fan blades are 18", taurus are 16". both are two speed, high and low. both will cool down your car with plenty of ummfff, arouned 4000 cfm on high on mark 8, around 3800 or so on high on the taurus.

taurus is same width, the mark eight is thicker (after being cut down thin as possible about 5 1/4 inch at thickest, taurus is about 4 1/2 before being trimmed. taurus is about 18" x 22 " x 4/1/2 deep. mark 8 is about 181/2x22x6 untrimmed, 51/4" trimmed at thickest point.

both work awesome on 5.0s. will work on stock/aftermarket radiators. almost always work well(some serious blowers won't clear) mine on low cools my trick flow nitroused mustang just fine in traffic, etc. "[/QUOTE]

                      I have to modify this.
Not all Mark VIII fans are two speed. The later models were one speed.
