I have a 2.8" 8 rib vortech pulley. It was the "Grip" model or whatever that is. I never had any terrible slip issues with it. It's still on the S-Trim sitting in my garage. Probably less than 4 months old. I had it machined .244" for perfect alignment with my setup, but shimming is easy.
I bought one at the swap meet and machined it for my roots
I can't use it till I get new tires, at yellowbelly I used it and skated all the way down the track, no slipping on it as evidenced by no belt rubber on the intake.

the primary butterfly is open too far and letting the fuel dribble out the venturies at idle, I'm going to clean the air bleeds and open the secondary stop to let more air in, then close the primary some, after I adjust the 4 idle mixture screws.
I'm not getting any weight transfer, I thought I had binding in my QA1 struts but I took both off and their fine. the 28x10.5x15 et slicks look like new but their 4 years old. The car skates all over the place. After christmas I'm getting some new ones. The main thing is the transmission is fixed.

I had one on my Novi 2000 and it eliminated belt slip. However if you are heavy on the gas, and immediately let off, you run the risk of shredding your belt quickly.

Its was that far out of alignment when you received it?

I always worked on making the best belt wrap possible to help eliminate slip. this has always been on mod motors for me, so it was a bit easier than on the push rod stuff.

the main problen was where the seal rides. The o.d. was about .050 too small to fit the B&M seal. I machined a bushing that pressed over the existing od with 271 locktite to make it fit the seal. Then I worked on the other areas. It stuck out too far for the belt alignment so I cut some off the backside. then the front part was too thick and it hit my hood with it closed, I cut it back to make it clear. Then the flat for the bolt and washer had to be trimmed down so the bolt head wouldn't hit the hood. It just took a lot of time to chuck it up and measure all it so I didn't screw it up.
