8.8 tracklok question
Don't worry about what you can't change.
Do the best you can with what you have.
Be honest, even if it hurts.

The stock open differential crosspin fits the 8.8 trac-lok.
I installed it today, the locking screw pin is also the same. On a side note it all went great, I even changed axle seals. Then it want way South, I was ready to put the new gearoil in with the little bottle of friction modifier, I found the fill plug, cleaned it out, put in my 3/8 extension with a long ratchet and it promptly rounded off the square hole in the plug. Well dam, I get out my chizel and beat around on it, nothing. I get my torch and the fire extinguisher since the plug is about 4" away from the gas tank and procede to get the plug hot. The plug started smoking so I cut the torch off, hammer and chizle more ,nothing.
At this point I'm resigned to remove the rearend and drill and use a easyout but then I decided to drill out the upper portion of the plastic/fiberglass back cover and add a 1/4" npt plug to fill it. I measured the oil I removed, added a couple of ounces and put that much back in. A little 3 hour glitch I never planned for. The rearend is silent and I have a posi for the road at the deerlease if it ever rains again.
The EndDon't worry about what you can't change.
