      had a customer with a common rail that had an acceleration problem and stalling/no start issue, he tried a fuel filter and it helped a little, but ended up being a lift pump bad.

        Same here. I have put a few of those retro kits in though when I couldn't get the old style lift pump from Ford.

          Oh they can definitely fail, but it's not some rampant issue IMO
