Ive been wanting to put a BB in for a while and happen to come across one at work for cheap so i grabbed it.Now besides the swap kit(headers,oilpan,ect.ect.) what else am i going to need?Stiffer springs upfront? Also im guessing the t5 will have to find a new home, so what are my options on the trans?

As for install, I think u have to notch the shock towers...[/QUOTE]
NO !
It is a bolt in with no mods other then watching what valve covers you use due to contact with the power brake booster . As for a trans you can use a stick but Tan is right if you are going to drive it at all you will kill the t-5 . You could go with a better 5 or 6 speed or the c4 , c6 or a glide . The c6 may need a little tunnel massage but other then the propper drive shaft that is about it . You already know about the mounts , headers and oil pan in the kit .Big Rooster Racing

You could run a tubular k-member for more space on the bottom end. Specific k-members for that swap already exist. Also, you could run a T-56 with a Macleod bell housing, if you're dead set on running a manual. You'll probably need a custom driveshaft, as you'll want the engine set as far back as possible. Like Cooter said, though, this is a less than desirable swap, unless a BBF mustang is an idea you just can't shake.
FWIW: I've never owned one, but I have ridden in one, and that cured me of ever wanting one.Last edited by YALE; 12-11-2012, 08:59 AM.ZOMBIE REAGAN FOR PRESIDENT 2016!!! heh

Unless you are building a absolutely wild block, stick with a 351 based setup."No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms. The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government"

I did this swap back in '87 on my '83 RS. Back then, there weren't a lot of avenues to use for extra power, so the big block swap made sense. Today, small blocks are easily capable of making as much or more power, in a much lighter package. The wow factor of popping the hood and showing off your 460 is not worth a car that handles like a pig on roller skates.
