And torque is relative. I hauled nearly 40,000 lbs gross with my 6.0 and it did admirably well. Once I had studs in, it was fantastic.
How much did the head stud install run you though? Teamjacob can't do his own work.

      7.3's are gutless turds... I'd take a 6.0 any day over a 7.3

Contact psdtech on here for all of your diesel needs, lol. I personally like the 05-07 6.0, better looking truck IMO and a reasonable price. Be sure to check out the warranty/maintenance history if possible, I checked out a local diesel dealer which has a lot of nice trucks but some were a little too cheap. Found out the reason was because some of the problems the trucks have had. Now of course this isn't all trucks and they may disclose this information, just what I've observed while shopping around.

7.3 is great but getting tougher to find . be aware that the rest of the truck still wears out. Ball joints, water pumps, 4WD front hubs and cam position sensor, alternator and tie rod ends are common repairs are 150,000 +/- mark. I own a 2001 CC f250 4x4 and a 2002 excusrion 4x4. and yes they are less powerful than the 6.0, the 6.4, and the 6.7 etc.

I may be mistaken but I believe the studs can be done one at a time without cab or motor removal so it shouldn't be too much on the 6.0

Studs themselves ran $500. I convinced the service manager to install them as direct replacements when I was having my heads replaced under warranty.

They didn't remove the cab either.

I had this issue with a 99 F350 PS.. It ended up being an o ring in the fuel / water seperator release valve. Some people found places to buy the correct o ring but comes in large quantities only. If you buy the full piece from Ford it's like $100. I bought the same part from an International Truck dealer for like $12. Unfortunately the International part does not have compatible bolt holes so I just took out the o rings and swapped them over. Fixed the problem though, and I was no longer leaking a cup of fuel every time I parked.

There are a million threads on it on teh net, and it is a pretty easy fix.

Ask Jluv, I think he had to do that and one or two other things on his 6.0.

I love my 7.3. If I wanted something fast I would buy another sport bike. I like something that will get me where I am going and back.

yup, that's the most common one. We had ours spring a leak and did the exact same thing.

Whenever you do purchase it, a nice check in the fuel filter bowl is a good idea...sometimes o-rings go bad and motor oil will get in there (I believe from the injectors somehow). This is commonly unnoticed, but it is there.

I replaced the filter at the same time.. It was all good. Just leaked like a sieve.

It was a weekend when it happened to ours, plus I was all the way down in Frisco with it. It got about 7mpg on the trip back up to Gainesville lol...the engine bay smelt horribly

My son has a 99 f250 with a 5.4, and he gets about 9MPG. His has close to 200K on it, and has been pretty reliable so far. We've had it a little over a year.

I have an '06, with the 6.0. It gets 14MPG in town, and maybe 17MPG on the highway. Both are 4x4, his is extended cab, mine is crew cab.

For what you're looking to spend, why not go with a half ton? I agree, the f250's look better, but you'll get a better truck for your budget, better MPG (not by much), and cheaper maintenance to boot. 7.3 or 6.0, when it breaks, its going to cost $$$$$$! ESPECIALLY if you can't do it yourself. The mileage you're looking at in those ads, its not IF, its WHEN it will break!

What would a 2002 f250 with 190k be worth. Clean inside and out, ranch hand bumper, 4 doors, small lift, detailed maintainer record, 5.4
