buy it, drive it for 6 months and then sell it some dumbass on Autotrader or craigslist that doesn't look at a carfax. Only issue is if their insurance company looks at a title history....be sure yours will cover it too.

lemon cars could go either way. I bought an 87 GLHS that was a buyback. after several months of driving it finally acted the way they said. replace the pick up plate and all was well

Mine ended up being a bit of a fiasco, but it was warrantied, and after I diagnosed it myself, had to involve Chrysler Corporate, they eventually ended up replacing a harness that fixed some issues it had....pretty certain that was the cause all along. However it eventually started having several other unrelated issues, and I flat got fed up with sweating my ass off all summer when it's AC would suddenly stop cooling....so I traded it in after a couple years. I got $4K less than I paid for it, and put almost 50K miles on it in 2 years, so still didn't work out terrible....but it was a headache.
Greenville Dodge and Greenville Mitsubishi are probably the most fraudulent dealers in Texas. In my career I have never seen a dealer group that is so shady as that dealer group. They have a problem with acquiring lenders, all of the major lenders have either sued them, or refused to do business with them.

They just mis-rep a lot of deals, or what?

Everything you can imagine. I personally had about ~40 deals from them which had fraud. As an example, I was sent loan paperwork with 60k miles listed for a 2010 dodge 1500 4x4 loaded. I repossessed the vehicle after the customer said he couldn't afford to fix it. It ended up having 160k miles on it, and it wasn't a 4x4, had non of the options listed, steering was out, engine was out of a junkyard vehicle, and the truck had clearly been in a major collision. Customer stated the dealership told them to verify it had 60k miles or I wouldn't give him the truck, etc. The dealer picked the vehicle up from me, and their own tow driver (that worked for the dealer) state they had done the same thing to him when he bought a car from them, and said you can't trust that dealer with anything.

            That's just one example.

Wow! Yeah, I know there are some dealers that are really shady like that. My experience was from commercial vehicles, so slightly different, but we often saw the same stuff.. Especially on options / booking out the stuff. Somehow every single used reefer trailer had stainless front and rear doors, air ride / slide, and every one just had a new reefer unit put on it.

Our biggest issue though, was with first time owner operators. I am sure half of the hauls we verified were bogus. (We had to verify the guy had a haul lined up for the new truck).
