However the damage has been done to the TS reputation and even if the OP gets a credit on his bill that likely won't reverse the damage done. In fact could make it worse. If they pay out then they admitted guilt after lying about it. Which IMO is worse in the end.
I dont have any problem with the admitting guilt if the are stand up about it. Now we can all agree this has been handled the wrong way and way to long. I can still respect a shop that can and will make things right rather then just say they are lying and making excuses as to why the other party is not trust worthy.

In most cases this kind of problem must always be brought back to the shop in which it happened unless they make other arrangements first to have another shop handle it.

The difference here is if TS had his employee check it out it would have been at 20-30 dollar's and hour vs 85+ of another shop.

Damn... You think the guys at TS make 20-30 bucks an hour? Wonder if they are hiring.

Oh and I agree I would feel the same as you, but wouldn't think other people would.

Well the shop owner paying all tax's and insurance as well as wage so I would think this could be a close number.

Oh I saw it... I think the proper thing would have been for the OP to bring it back to you and allow you to take it apart. I think he feared he would be led in the wrong direction and it would end up costing him more money in the end. Either way it cost him money though because he paid another shop to take it apart.

I'm sure you guys would have. I just wonder if the tech tearing it down would admit it was dowel pins. We are talking about the same guy that remembers installing them 6 months ago.

I am not a absent owner, I know what is going on and am in the shop most of the day working close with my guys. Plus if my techs make a mistake or do somthing wrong, they are still paid so there is no reason for them to fear addmitting mistakes........

Nope, one party has to know the conversation is being recorded .... in this case it was teamgay.

Oh come on now, 1 mistake fine, 2 mistake dont let it happen again, 3 mistake your fired!

Maybe not that quickly but to think everyone is honest and own up to it is complete B.S. (let me say I dont know you or your guys) But it is a rarity in this industry to have perfect employees.

so your saying instead of giving us a shot of making it right its better to go on the internet cry foul, say we never made good on a problem when we never got a chance too?

so the better route is to try and hurt a company that was willing to help but your affraid they won't?

Come on is that what you are telling me?
