it was the dowel and he refused to look at it.
he first offered to let toby do side work on the week end and then pretended he didnt and took that off the table.
then he made this offer to look at it but insist on charging because he "knew" it was in the short block which it wasnt.
then when we spoke he wasnt doing anything without 1500 in his pocket.
better business didnt shoot it down. i submitted the claim so he knew i was serious about coming up with a resolution, which he declined.
after that, i didnt pursue trying to get the better business bureau attempting to make him do anything.

whoa... This is fucken out of hand imo.
TSM built my last Vette up. On the dyno-tune session it lost oil pressure and spun a rod bearing that was a former problem unknown to any of us. Toby purchased the shortblock and noticed at least 3 flattened rod bearings and 2 rods that were blued, more than likely due to oil starvation abuse or detonation(it did ping badly in the summer, which is why I was changing so many parts to improve its reliability).
Clint stood behind the car (even though it wasn't anything his shop did wrong, he wanted to make sure I was happy), Sean had it rebuilt in 3 days from receiving the newer take out motor(had to swap over all the parts off the broken motor, H/C/I/and all related assemblies), and the car still runs tits to this day 5K+ miles and a LOT of racing later. I DID pay to remove the old motor and re install the new one, which is what Clint was trying to have Chris do to make sure his motor was fine... I understand Chris's financial situation, but I have been out of work a fuck ton longer than he has, and I found a way to make it happen/right.
The kid I sold it to in Florida got 24 mpg averaging over 85 mph on the way home, over 100 straight miles going 130+ chasing a newer BMW.
True Street does great work, they have worked on all of my running cars except my new Volkswagens.
This is a very unfortunate situation, but completely un-needed to be thrown online like this. I dont see any wrong doing on TSM's side, Clint has been more than patient and very reasonable about this, imo.
