When I found a hose clamp melted between my cylinder's wall and piston on my 79K original 302, I knew I had got screwed by a performance shop. I knew something wasn't right when I left Texas Jam that night because the car was overheating. I figured it was air pockets from the intake swap. Left it like that for a month before I actually decided to tear it down. Boy was I piss, when I went back to talk to them, The hot rod store had bought them out. I explained my situation to them but they couldn't do anything about it. Shit I even brought them the trw piston show them the damage.
Murillo himself didn't do the intake swap, it was his mechanic Mike. I became great friends with the sale rep from the hot rod store and told me that murillo's mechanic would go by to ask for work. So one time, I was hanging out, Mike walks into the hot rod store to bullshit and then Sales Rep Jared pulls the piston out. He then says "Take a look at the damage you did to Solis car" dude was caught off guard and right away denied it wasn't him. Really! I know he didn't forget my face or car in four months.
It's better to speak up now than later. Sorry folks I have insomnia and had caffeine kinda late, I can't seem to stfu lol!
