    Why anyone has to pull the heads to replace springs is beyond me. Sure, it may be a pain in the dick, but fuck all that noise.

      On overhead can motors it is sometimes necessary to pull heads to change springs. No access for tools

        My goals are mostly bolt ones and cams in search of 480+.... hopefully 500 for fun.

        In my 2950# race ready with driver car....it should be a hoot on track and probably the craziest thing around short of a trans am or GT1 car. Will be learning all I can about the new motor over the next few weeks.
        Stage 3 cams with a good tune will get you close to 470 (PM BadAss2000GT about his results, IIRC, TS got 466 out of his). Throw a set of mildly massaged heads on there and 500 is completely within reach. Check out JPCRacing for their 500 hp n/a Coyote package.

          Impressive is relative. For factory heads LS3 heads are pretty good especially for the price, factory cleveland 4v heads and most hemi heads are impressive.

          For aftermarket heads its an entirely different ball game.

          The real problem is that you seem to think that I'm degrading the Coyote as a whole, all I said is that I wasn't impressed with the flow numbers. In all fairness I don't know the intake port volume and if they were tiny I might be very impressed. But the thing is the engine is extremely efficient (100% VE at some points apparently) and that is impressive.

          Now stop huggin coyote nuts

          Edit: These are moderately impressive numbers, using factory BBF port locations but are aftermarket

          intakes;
          .100=67, .200=148, .300=241, .400=326, .500=387, .600=419, .700=422, .750=419, .800=418, .850=423 cfm.

          exhausts; without a test pipe.
          .100=52, .200=106, .300=150, .400=192, .500=228, .600=252, .700=263, .750=265, .800=266 cfm.

            I suppose that is the flaw in your argument. You think current RWHP numbers have anything to do with what I am addressing. I wan't to take a peak into the future and see what these things will make a couple years down the line when the motors are cheaper and can be found in junkyards.

            Wait, ford doesn't put them in anything else so I guess its not going to take off like the LS series motors. Bad call on Ford's part. I would make it the standard engine in the whole ford lineup. But that's me.

            Great motor, 900hp is within reach for these motors with stock heads and a power adder. However when we start to knock on 1200hp mark you want more flow.

                    cams and intake. Most road race guys are going to use a BOSS intake anyways, and Aggie97 said he's going to use aftermarket cams.

                      only in time. I am trying to poor boy this to get it running, then over the next year add the Boss intake, LT's and cams. It will be an immediate bump in HP and extended rpm range. I will probably do the other mods mid year so I can get the car on track sooner. Can't wait to start working on this!

                          still in the process of acquiring engine and parts. Pulling my current motor this weekend and starting the prep work.

                              not at first. Maybe later. going with correct Road Race swap pan and billet oil pump gears, MMR's cooling mod and a doing all the stuff I did to make my current mod motor last. I also plan on strengthening the chain guides on the coyote but won't figure that out till I get the front cover off while doing the oil pump. I need to find a good manual for the 2011 Mustang like a haynes or chilton so I can put the thing back together right! LOL!

                                No joke, Itd be cool to throw some tools around on an actual track car. Lots to learn from stuff like that.
