There is more to it than HP. Torque and traction is what will kill it.

they dont hold that much in stock trim thats for sure. I cant speak to a modded T5.

some will break at stock power levels and then I've seen some live quite a while behind 500+hp motors

My t5 lasted up to about 400hp but would not shift over 4500rpm.

My t5z was behind a 408w in a 67 coupe. Ran 6.80s on motor, ful interior and 9inch rear on a 28inch tire.

Has the uprdaged input shaft sleeve and is super tight.

Shifts smooth as butter in my car, and I'm not worried about throwing power at it.

Many factors like clutch type, size and type of tire, rear suspension, weight of car, condition of transmission and more so the person driving the car.

I used to break them as if it was my hobby when I had my stock long block 85 gt. Later I kept one alive for years in a heads/cam car. Driving style has a lot to do with it.

lol, they won't last for shit. I blew up close to 10 of those. I can tell you exactly how to blow one up 10 different ways. Once you make 350rwhp+ it's a time bomb. The majority of mine blew up in the high rev's in third gear, my car was boosted.

I've broken one in a 94 gt at near stock power on a 1-2 shift.

But i've also had a 89 coupe with a stock T5 with 230K miles on it (never rebuilt) go 7.40's. it helped that the clutch was spinning just a tad off the line i'm sure but still there and lasted through shifts fine. sold it in fine working order. i did rn several 8.0's launching at 5500 too.

generally they don't last long under power, i just got lucky.
