Friction modifier can help. I think that is the fluid you are talking about.

Disconnect one of the lines to the cooler from rack and pinion is a pretty easy way to drain the fluid.

Some say... they have been raced, some a lot

You can drain the pump (hose at the back), drain the rack and drain the cooler and lines but getting all of it is going to be hard.

Just drain and refill. I used the Royal Purple stuff and my pump is quiet as a church mouse. Not that I would hear it over the turbo of the motor.
Fuck you. We're going to Costco.

As I understand it, they are noisy as hell when they start to get old and worn out. Mine is really bad and is on the list to replace. I read a few threads on Corral where replacing the pump and the lines fixed the noise issue, and you will have to drain/fill at that time anyways. I plan to do that early next year myself, but not sure about replacing the lines as they should be fine if they aren't cracked, blocked, or leaking.

Simple pump swap is an hour max.

I was the guy on corral that did the complete -an and steel braided line set up on his 94/95. Good times, not.

Thanks. It drove fine on the power tour and for 800 miles before that. I think I have a fuel issue right now, like bad E85 or something. I will know more in a couple of weeks when I get home.

I changed it from "punk ass newbie" to the more accurate "punk ass douche". Basically I am ok with who and what I am... I like me, douche and all.
