My late ex-father in law dropped a few hundred on a maaco paint job on my ex-wives fucken k car. didn't even last a year. My krylon roller job lasted over a year without a single chip, and looked WAY better.

What kind of car are we dealing with?

Might vary on location i seen their "ambassader" paint job go for 5 yrs but then ya , it flaked .

Used to know a used dealer that would have stuff painted by em on the cheap and then hurry and sell lol . some old man he didnt care and they were always like "wow the paint looks new !" lol

Save your $$'s and do it right the first time, if you have some cheapo shit sprayed on and then want it done right someday, be prepared to strip all of it off.

ya just like my ex, that car is long gone. It was a turbo 4 though.

was kinda fun to drive until the father in law desided to power wash the engine bay and fried the ecu.

A flat or satin (4bangen: saten) won't show the dents as bad.

My neighbor got some cheap paint job on his Civic and you can see the waves in the body work now. Before with the faded paint it at least looked like a beater. Now it looks like it had a cheap paint job done.

Had a macco special done on my '90 GMC regular cab. It looks awesome for $500 otd.

I can't say anything about how long it will last, but it looks really good.

You can buy a $15 spray gun at harbor freight, get a water separator for the air hose, good pressure regulator on your compressor, etc... then just buy a gallon of your choice of paint, preferably single stage non-metallic color and all the reducers and what not to mix it.

I did some repair on a Stormin Norman hood that met with the wall on an old car, then painted the front and rear bumper covers and drivers rear quarter on a 92lx. It was a good 15 footer considering I'm no body guy.

                  The hood before repair...

                  during...

                  after...

Wet sanding with 1000-2000 grit and buffing does wonders for your average backyard paint job!
