Especially in comparison to the new 5.0's? I was thinking about picking one up shortly after AIT as a treat to myself considering they are going for $25-$30 right now. 5.0's can be had for around $20k and change. Any owners here?

That's a good question. I've been on the fence lately between buying a low mileage 1993 cobra or a gt500. I'm leaning more towards the 93 because their value is stable and should go up. Where the GT500 will only go down in value for years to come. The only problem I have is finding a 93 cobra. I've been close twice and both times the sellers flaked out hours before the deal was suppose to go down.

I can't comment on how they compare to the new 5.0s but I love my 2009 GT500. I've owned 2 in the last 3 years and have nothing but praises for them. The 2007 model does have the clutch and harmonic balancer issues but other than that I think you'll be fine mechanically speaking.

I just figured I'd buy the 93 cobra first as that will be the hardest to find. I'm finding that I was right. I've got a line on a teal grey car with 11k miles the only problem is it's a sun roof car. Still trying to decide if I can over come that or not.ZOMBIE REAGAN FOR PRESIDENT 2016!!! heh

My last low mileage foxbody I owned for about 3 years and only put 800 miles on it. That's because my wife was always bitching to go for a ride.

Stock vs stock, the 5.0 gets the nod. As it should since it is the newer platform. The GT500 responds better to bolt-ons.
And if it really matters, money isn't really a big deal. I'm thinking if I go shelby, the motor is going to be pulled and redone anyways.
