I have a 1985 convertible gt i just bought some 06 rims with 255/35/17 tires and the tires rub the back fender wall bad. what can i do change tires or do i have to change studs and use spacers.. any info will help..

Sell the rims and get some from the SN95 era. The backspace is all wrong with the S197 wheels.

Yeah, get rid of them. they don't fit for shit.


I'm not running spacers but in your case you could run a 1" bolt-on spacer. Don't use the floating spacers that fit over your studs.

I saw your ad for the wheels. I noticed you have rear disc. Is you axle assembly Fox width or SN width? If its SN width, those should fit without an issue.

I buy mine on Ebay. About $60-70 a pair. You will only need them for the rear.
