Has anybody bypassed the ac on a 4.6 motor? My ac locked up and I'm looking for a belt length to bypass so I can drive it to the shop...

It's not as simple just getting a shorter belt. Not without a change in position of the tensioner. As for belt lengths, a string and a tape measure always will get you in the ballpark.

Yeah I see, gonna have it towed in. Not the same as a Foxbody

I took mine off I'll see if I can find a pic of the belt routing. Well I can't find a pic but it is a simple routing but you will have to take the tensisioner off and put the belt inside the pulley instead of on the outside.

Here is a pic of my old motor with a little paint drawing to show you the belt routing. I don't use the upper guide pulley either.

My belt routing will work and it will be a hell of a lot cheaper then a tow

Get a v6 idler pulley and belt, swap the pulley on the tentioner, run the belt bolt back up and go. I've done on my 2000.
