Painting cars/Paint booths questions

I have recently started working with my dad at his car lot. After some discussions we have thought about maybe getting a paintbooth or just some equipment. (Not high end cars so may not need a clean booth and fancy equipment)

I guess my question is.. Does anyone know if there are any regulations and restrictions in the city of Balch Springs to do this or can You just paint in your garage so to speak? I have done some searches online and cant seem to find anything.. Now this would not be something we would do for customers and have people pay us to do we just would like to be able to paint some cars we have or may get before selling them and save a little money from sending them to other shops.

City of Dallas, you even mention painting anything they have an ape attack.

Inspector told me " you have got to have fire protection " ie: automatic frie bottles $$$$$

and meet all sort of chemical storage rules ect. ect.ect.
