Im having a hell of a time getting my Dist stabbed correctly, I have got it to where it will start. But sounds like it running on 6 cycl & I have turned the HB to 0 degrees & made sure my number 1 cycl in open when I stab it & that the rotor is pointing at the number 1 spark plug on the cap. But no luck!

    Im off Shiloh & Miller

Following these instructions. http://forums.corral.net/forums/5-0-...tor-101-a.html Didnt pull spark plug on number 1, Going to pull number one spark plug & as soon as I feel air coming out the hole turn the balancer to 0 Degree mark & make sure is pointing number 1 spark plug on the rotor.

        Will report back

What cam ? If the cam is for a truck or came out of a truck with a 302 in it, the firing order is different than an h.o.

                    Just a thought

TFS 2 cam & GT40 Heads & Intake, Pretty sure its a norm 5.0 motor. This is Nemos old coupe & I pulled the Dist to install a MSD & now cant get it re started. I want to learn this as Im always messing with these 5.0 cars.

Is it possbile its 180 out? I have taken the number 1 spark plug out & turned the crank till I feel air. I have to keep turning the crank after I feel air coming out the number 1 spark plug hole & put the Balancer at 0 degrees on it & stab the Dist to get the rotor to line up to the number 1 spark plug on the rotor & I get popping & sputter & it trying to start

It could be 180* out, normally you can hear it when you try and start the engine. It's a little hard to describe over the internet but it'll sound like a plunk, plunk coming out the exhaust, sometimes you can hear it in the intake too.

All the valves adjusted properly? Did you check P to V clearance?

Thats exactly what im hearing a plunk plunk & it sounds like its coming out the intake. The car ran & drove fine with the TFS Stage 2 cam before I pulled the Dist. But I also pulled the Fuel Pump cause I thought it was bad.

The fuel nipple should squirt out fuel with the key in the on posistion shouldnt it? Want to make sure im getting fuel now.

Sounds like you're 180* out, yes you should have fuel at the schrader valve with the key on. What balancer are you using? I've had aftermarket ones with multiple timing marks on them and it can be a PITA finding the correct timing.
