Granted it isn't rocket science but for someone that doesn't know how to do anything but bolt on parts it isn't going to be as easy as it seems like
Well lets see the temp gauge just rely on senders so thats should work just swap the sender . The oil pressure gauge... i dont know . THe speedo.... they have little kits that convert them, i have seen those . They convert to an electical signal . The RPM gauge wont be stock so thats no biggie

As for the volts it should be no different but the fuel will probly have to change . But autometer has plenty that look stock so im not concerned with that .

gauges are typically pretty easy, most of the time you just have to re-use the factory senders for the coolant temp and oil pressure which means finding conversion fittings if they are not the same thread/pitch. for speedo dakota digital has a driver that will spin a mechanical speedo cable based on the vss signal from the trans. factory tach's can be made to work via tuning (factory tach output on ls motor is setup like a 4 cylinder), you might need to install a "jump-up" wire to boost the tach signal however. if you reuse the factory tank your fuel level won't change, and volts of course are the same.

well at least when it come to biting off something like this . id do a stock 350 myself but never attempted something like this a full conversion

Anyone else that does em ? i figured it would be a small list
all jokes aside there is a guy on CL who sells/rebuilds LS engines. he claims to do the full swap for i think $500 on top of the engine cost... He is in rockwall, if you just search "6.0L" you should be able to find him.. may be worth a shot for you..

I've seen that before and I don't know how he could do that He'll I wouldn't want to do it for $500 labor if it was taking one LS motor out and putting another one in haha

from the article i get the impression he will install them in factory equipped ls trucks (2wd for 500, 4wd for 600) not custom applications. anyone want to re-read it and see if they get that vibe?

All other vehicles are custom applications, I have done many many custom swaps (5.3 into 87 el camino, 6.0L into V6 chevy truck, 6.0L into 69 Chevy Truck, 6.0L into 95 Chevy Truck, just to name a few).

thats what i meant, the 500 is to R&R a ls motor from an ls truck and pop one of his in, not for custom applications.

for someone who lacks the juice to do the swap, its still an option.. it's just CL, you could prolly go there, give him a hand and still only pay $500.. beer goes a long way!
