In all honesty scott, id talk to whoever will be doing your final machine work. In the past the only diff ive seen in blocks of this range is the amount of machine work to get them ready. 1 block may save you a bit on initial purchase, yet take another 3-4 hours to get lifter bores in line or something of that nature.

                  So does my 2012...

I've been looking at these blocks as well. Will be tuned in for quality posts by someone that has experience with them. Either the dart or Motorsport.

Why would anybody spend $3k plus on a SBF block that is going into a daily or street/strip?

dart wants $5995 for their block. Granted it has bigger #1 and #5 main caps and other features that are good to 1000+ HP but if you aren't going over 650-700 this block will work just fine even if you put another $500 in machine work for final prep.

I've considered this block for a new combo on my race car.

Im reading conflicting views on it. Some say its better than a Dart....others say go with a Dart.

I've also read its the old RDI block, but has 2 bolt mains on ends. Everyone agrees, the RDI block is the best aftermarket block, but they don't make them anymore. So, if this truly is an RDI, I would think its better than a Dart.

4 bolt mains can be added on the ends, just makes rear main seal a project
