  • blower vs turbo, SBF/fox street cruiser

800-900hp goal, 6spd, Rblock full weight fox body.

Procharger vs YSi vs TT vs Single.

Was having this debate with a buddy of mine, Turbo seems like the nicest for me because of my history with big centri blowers having trouble hooking up on the street. Seems like its just easier to hook and control a turbo kit. Granted on a budget you can get into a blower setup much cheaper then a nice turbo kit. From what I've seen anyway, correct me if I'm wrong of course.

FWIW I like my turbo set up

I've thought about changing to a blower but probably never will..... and Sam doesn't think it would be a good idea either haha

Thought you were doing a ls3?

      My grapevine must be broken.

Your v is sick, saw it at true street.

Can't beat a turbo set up, that bitch will run!

        Why would you go blower?

I have several different combos in mine, this is purely a convo between a friend and me though. Figured it would be a good topic of convo on here.

As of now I feel bad about putting an LS in a 93 Cobra....I know its dumb but its a nice car and keeping it SBF would be cool. It'll just be slow and shitty lol

That would provide more fun for you on the street then the other combos?

I actually do prefer nitrous, but if I were building a nitrous combo it would be a big motor. Not something that small.

              A 3200lbs car with 450-500rw on motor + 400 shot?

I suppose a 351 base stroker, like a 454 cube sbf with some giggle would haul some ass..

But for power on the go, big single turbo would be choice.. Just loose the sleeper side of things with the big whistle.

I trust you'll make it a badass car either way.

I still want to ride in the supra.

Supra doesn't have a passenger seat, no joy rides in that death trap lol.

I highly doubt a big compression, big cubic inch nitrous car with a direct port would be very "sleeper" LOL

                  Tell them it's a 351 with a baby shot..

Or get sneaky with direct port under the intake and bottles under the back seat.. Remote bottle openers in the ash tray, and gauges in the glove box..

Just me, but it could be done.

Shit man, I'll sit in the floor board, I'll even supply my own 5 point harness!

My only concern with a centrifugal blower is the big loss of bottom end power.

They'll offer decent drivability, but I personally find them to be big bulky power robbers.

I've never owned a car with boost, so my point is invalid.

If I had to go boost, it would be a roots for the sound and low end power or a turbo for all around greatness.

Sounds like you've never done it to me, no offense.

Adding that sort of complication ALWAYS ends up going south. Also the smell and sound of a big nitrous hit is VERY obvious after 1 hit on the street or track.

I've had cars with bottles in the glove box, console, back seat, spare tire, doors, etc... Not worth it IMO

Makes sense. I've had all 3 and all of which have been fun. My least favorite being roots style or positive displacement superchargers.

Low end power is good for 2 things IMO.

I have never done it, but have had many wet dreams. Which do not count.

Blowing tire is cool, to a point. Lol

Like I said before. I trust the car will be a bad mamma jamma, so my input is useless.

Just rambling after 48oz of lime a ritas.
