Smog Pump going out?

Hello fellow gear heads

I have an 87 Mustang GT, and the smog pump is going out. Does anyone know if I can just disconnect the belt and still run my car without the lines being disconnected? I so please reply ASAP. This is my only means of transportation.

You can take it off and run a shorter belt without any issues.

You can also Just bypass it if you want.

Make sure if you take it off plug EGR tube or bend it gangsta style

I plan on leaving everything on for now. I just dont have the money for a delet or the right tools to eliminate the pump and lines.
