My 92 is bone stock, was an AOD, now a 5 speed. When it was auto, I would average 15-16 in town, and jump to 23-25 on the highway. If I did mixed, it would be in the 20 range.

After the switch to 5 speed, I was expecting to see big gains, but I did not. It is about the same. Recently drove it to Waco and back, topped off at the same station I used when I left. Averaged 25.6, all highway, cruise set on about 72, turning right at 2K RPM. 3.08 gears.

Around town can change drastically, depending on how its driven.

Drove my old 93 up north one time, about 1500 miles round trip. Averaged about 27. That car was a stock 5-speed, with 2.73's. Seems like it was taching around 1700-1800 at 70.

I had a very well running 87 hatch with a AOD that would knock down 25 mpg hwy with full exhaust being only mod. The only other one I checked fuel economy on was a 88 gt 5spd. It would get around 26-7 hwy stock down the the air silencer.

21mpg, hwy was the best I ever got, 16mpg around town without pushing it too much.

My old turbo 200kmile 5.0 with an aod would pull mid 20's on the highway cursing around 70 with 3.27 gears.

My 82 would get around 10 city and 15 highway. Gt40 ported heads, e cam, low rise intake, headers. AOD. Granted it was a carb car so a EFI will prolly be better. It is only a Holley 600. 2.73 traction lock.
