Where to get a good, cheap LS?

Junk yards, seen a few on Craigslist as well.

The only reason I would go 6.0 over 5.3 is it could potentially add value to the car when you sell it. The 5.3 is lighter though and makes around the same power as the ls1

I haven't seen 1 complete lq4/lq9/l76/ly6/lfa on CL or in yards for under $1100.
I see lr4/ly2 and LM7/L59/LM4/L33/LH6/LY5/LMG/LC9/LH8's for $500 all day.
What I'd really like to find is a 6.2/6l90e to swap, but dats $$$$$.

gm really needs to come out with a standalone controller for the new 6 speed autotransmisions. I would love to put one in my fbody but theres just no support for them right now

My brother has a cheap "lightened" LS1 block. Should run cool, with that new window in the side. (kidding, and jabbing at GM folks)

I still don't understand why these motors are held in high regard. This stocker ventilated with less that 120k miles. Not high mileage to me.

Not wanting to go smaller ci. He is the last person on the planet that needs any power adder. This is the guy known for being able to tear up anvil with a rubber mallet.

^ Maybe he took shitty care of it? IMO they are the best bang for the buck.

They are cheap and light, and I'm sure if it can be torn up, he can do it. He swears it had oil in it, and he kept it changed. I think he's still pissed that my 2.3 Ford would beat on his mighty LS.

He probably took shitty care of it. Both of mine are well over 120k and extremely modified. They are very popular because they are extremely simple and make great power. Combine that with their cheap price tags and light weight and they are being scooped up by import guys and old school resto guys
