I have a 2006 fx4 that looks like this


with the same wheels

and i'm thinking about plasti dipping them, but leaving the 6 lug covers themselves chrome.

how well does this stuff hold up? the truck will see lots of rain (location check) and plenty of off-road use.

thoughts?

I just did my crome bumpers and tailgate handle last weekend, looks great! I'm going to post some pictures soon, only thing I would do different is take off the tape before everything dries.

Do your wheels and badges.

Jus pulled some thick plastidip off of 2012 gt wheels. I was on for about 6 months. Biggest PITA, even more than getting to the header-mid pipe flanges on a 2v gt. if it is fresh, it is easy to peel though. Dont do it if you even plan on removing it. It holds up extremely well if you do it correctly.

Clean the surface then put on 4 to 5 coats.
