  • Do Ford dealers still work on Foxes?

Bout to get my 90 finished, needs all new AC shit, thought bout asking dealer to do it since handy man places seem to work for a year or two (if that) when it worked for 10 + when it was new...

Just curious if they would laugh and ask wtf it was since its 22 this month.

The service writer will take it in then spend the rest of the day begging someone to look at it and write a $3000 estimate .

I was figuring closer to 2k which would be ok if everything was replaced basically besides the hvac control inside the car (that's been replaced already lol)

The parts install is crazy easy on those cars . The important stuff is flush the evaporator , add the proper amount/type of oil in the comp , condenser , dryer and pull a vacuum for at least 45mins . There is a difference in parts too . I can get a whole new kit including condenser for about $300 . It's from china and its crap. Good stuff will run about $750 . Try for ford NOS but if it's gone and discontinued just spend the money on the best compressor you can find .

thats funny you pay good money to a ford dealership only to get over priced oreilly car parts that the dealership hiked up on prices after the install!

                        that shit should be illegal

I was standing in O'rielly one day and a Ford guy walked in and picked up brake parts and a alternator for a Ford. I thought it was complete bullshit myself.

I would never take an old car to a dealer... their techs can barely work on new vehicles. No way I'd take some kid a car he's never seen/worked on before.
