Most of the time it will NOT go down inside of the heim bearing in the CC plate without some devine intervention.


    This is how mine is setup up, there are two spacers, one that comes in from the bottom and slides through the heim in the cc plate and one on top that goes on before the top nut. (excuse my ms paint skills or lack thereof)

      I dont doubt how it's setup, I'm questioning if the bushing is seated right and that's not the noise you're hearing...but, it would likely not affect your problem very much even if that were the case.

          I'll take a picture later, but I'd def. say they are at a rather aggressive angle. Hell, they don't straighten out until the wheels are almost off the ground.

            I'll double check, but it is a TIGHT fit getting enough threads above that top spacer to get the nut started, lots of wiggling to get it pushed through enough, if the bottom spacer wasn't pushed through I don't think I could get the nut on at all.

                This is like the angle they are at. Just seems like the wheels would turn inward if they were out of angle rather then bind.

                  Yes, but now that I think of it the steering wheel wasn't locked so the other wheel could possibly have been pulled inward or the entire hub could have pivoted on the ball joint which would have masked the bind.

                        angle finder, get the tie rod as close to the lower control arm angle as you can at ride height, it will be close enough.

                            Bump steer kits have shims. If your bump steer is way out of whack, when you adjust it, it will toe in/out the alignment and you'll have to fix it at rest. Bump steer is a big deal on our cars, if it's not right, the car won't do shit right.

                              Rack bushings and a bumpsteer kit that will have different tie rod ends that let you add a stack of shims.

                                any decent (read: not baller baller brooks stuff) bump steer kits you can think of?
