        boat info in general will help. I assume it's and inboard\outboard. The only ones I've ever seen where you pushed the key in were outboards. I'm guessing if it was injected its some form of v-8. As others have stated choke adjustment setting can have a lot to do with it, accelerator pump function also. If it's using an old points style ignition, then dwell and timing can also play a little into it.

            Just so you know it will likely not show up on the muffs. The exhaust on a boat comes out of the prop which its under water and creates a pretty big restriction and will make carb problems worse
            The exhaust comes out above the water on this boat.

            It's an Outlaw Baja. Was originally a fuel injected 502. Now is a carb'd Dart block 540 with Brodix heads.

              650 sounds a little small for a big block, however it should still start fine if jetted correctly and the choke is set right.
