Agreed. Travis lost my respect back in the days of THP and long before they moved into USA Motorsports. I will never let them touch anything of mine.

The gears are ruined. Give us a call tomorrow, we are running a special for the month of sept on ford racing gears installs. Gears should never whine, the pinion depth is set too deep thus causing the whine on decel.

I've seen there work first hand.

Well I am going to give them a chance to fix it since I have already paid for it. If it's still cashed, I will definitely hit up TS!

Don't bother trying to get them to fix it. The old saying about not being able to un-break an egg also applies to gear sets.

I would agree with this most of the time. I got a set of gears from Nate on here years ago because I broke a set at the track. He gave them to me but he said they made all kinds of noise in the car that they were installed in. I didn't care I just needed something to get the car moving at the time. Well I set them up myself to specs and they never even made a sound. That was almost 5 years ago and I still have those same gears in my car to this day.

Anything is possible and they could be set back up to not make noise. but if they are messed up I'm sure they will put in a new set.

All I know is that high speed decel sounds like a fucking train.

Yup. Makes the install very simple if you stick with Ford.

I was tired of paying for my lack of knowledge/experience on differentials. I spent $100 on the special tools (dial indicator, in-lb torque wrench) and studdied up on the procedures. It's extremely simple but arduous work. I'm setting up my own from now on.

Yeah that sucks, I know exactly what you are talking about. I had a set of gears do the exact same thing many years ago. Nothing I did could fix them, they were just screwed up.

I will say i had a ring gear be a little out of round. Ford racing set of 373's.

Never made a sound, except when i blew up that shitty auburn pro 31 spline unit and it ate a couple teeth.

The whining IS the gears. Does not have a thing to do at all with the suspension. Incorrect pinion angle will give you a vibration with noise. No whining. Besides...with the 2 piece drive-shaft, you have allot more wiggle room on the pinion angle. Make sure they get you NEW gears, and demand that someone sets it up that KNOWS WHAT THEY ARE DOING!

                                Best of luck.
