Travis will make it right. I had my gears installed there and I've had them do all of the work on my car. I've never had a problem with their service.

I recently had a family member take his 94 Cobra to a shop in the North Dallas area for an overheating problem. $1600 later they couldn't fix it.

I sent him to gearheads and they got the job done.

Some gears tend to be noisy (richmond) even when installed correctly. But it sounds like improper setup to me and it needs to go back to the shop.

FRPP gears should not make noise.

        What brand did you purchase?

Why do you say that? It's a good shop and they do good work. Every so often something gets messed up just like at every other shop around here, but I'm pretty sure they will take care of it and make it right.

For pro installed gears I wouldn't accept any noise.

Hell, my 4.10's weren't even a matched set ( ring and pinion different brand) and James B still got those fuckers quiet.

I wouldn't of installed them even if you signed a waiver.

Well I really can't dog on them because I have had issues at EVERY car shop and dealership I have ever been to. Well except for truestreet recently, they did well.

Why the hell does it matter if it is 3.55 3.73 or 4.56'?

I can't remember what brand gears they put in. Will be sure to ask if they can put some frpp's in; Car goes in Thursday morning.

Obviously a difference. But if they set up wrong, would they not make noise either way?

Generally speaking you need to get the lower gear ratios closer to "perfect" and they tend to make more noise when setup poorly because that pinion is flying.

Harmonics play a factor as well, typically It's on 4:30 and higher that the problems show up at least in 8.8's.

My last set made no noise at all until i put syphericals in it. On decel it had some noise transfer. I pull it apart and everything was set up correctly.

I like Travis but tbh I don't think you should have to go around other people to get to the owner to make it right.

Another reason to I like true street. It seems everyone there is just as passionate as Clint on doing things right. Had my gears done there as well.
