Has Anyone ever dropped the trans on a 99+ mustang with longtubes ? I need to check out my clutch but I don't want to pull out the engine ... from the looks of it I might have too the headers seem like they are going to get in the way

Yep, you have to get the headers loose to remove the trans.
Drop the k member, see if that's easier. Lol
Pulling the motor for what, the fourth time?
Get that car fixed! I found berto/baltas Mach swap car, nick ran him and beat him. So you need to step in and drag some ass.

I've pulled the trans out of a 04 2 valve and a 97 4 valve without pulling the headers. They both had bbk. I loosed the motor mount nuts and let the trans and motor drop down a little, used a comalong (however you spell it) on each header at the collector, attached the other ends to the ramps on the lift and spread them apart as far as possible. It's still a challenge getting it out and back in but easier than pulling a header loose or off in my opinion. Also having the lift helped.
