Btw, simple green did the trick.
Simple Green is an excellent cleaner, make sure to be thorough with removing it though. It's caustic.

On my truck I bead blasted all the aluminum bits (except for the compressor) and coated with Eastwood’s Diamond Clear. 2 years later it seems to be holding up well.

Battery hold down, works, stock one cracked in half.

Bar Keepers Friend- $3 at Wally World- works like a charm for all kinds of clean up on metal. Shit lasts forever- still have a can I bought like 3 years ago

Try finding a machine shop that has a chemical coating shop. Etchant then de-oxidize/clear anodize.

                      S&S Machine
                      450 E Gates
                      Irving, TX 75060
                      972 438 6282

I know that shop has the means, but not sure if they will do it for non-contrct type stuff.

I think you should add the AC back to to car.
