This morning on my way to work the clutch pedal was stuck all the way to the ground. I couldn't shift and it stalled on me. The pedal had no pressure so I went and pulled the clutch relay and put in a new one. Pressure was back but now when its idling it sounds like something is loose. When I press down on the clutch pedal the noise stops. Any ideas as to what caused it to loose pressure? I drove it yesterday without any problems. It's a 1995 Nissan pickup 2wd 4 cylinder.

Nissans don't really give much issue except when they have a lot of miles on them. Your unit probably has a bad bearing or two in it. Thats assuming you tightened everything up pertaining to the clutch correctly.

Oh, I haven't even messed with anything. Yeah this sucker stopped reading mileage after 90k about 5 years ago.. I'm estimating its well over 200k by now. As far as I'm concerned with the clutch I'm just trying to figure out if I'm better off replacing everything on it; flywheel, pressure plate, clutch cylinder, etc....Originally posted by talismanI wonder if there will be a new character that specializes in bjj and passive agressive comebacks?Originally posted by AdamLXIf there was, I wouldn't pick it because it would probably just keep leaving the game and then coming back like nothing happened.Originally posted by BroncojohnnyBecause fuck you, that's whyOriginally posted by 80coupenice dick, Idrivea4bangerOriginally posted by Rick Modena......and idrivea4banger is a real person.Originally posted by JesterMan ive always wanted to smoke a bowl with you. First I'd replace the floor boards seeing they are so rusty the clutch pedal touches the ground. Maybe even cut the pedal down so its not long enuff to reach the ground. Then I'd be looking at a bad throw out bearing.

The sound it makes while idling is more like a knocking noise. When I shift and have the clutch pedal pressed down it goes away but the noise comes back when I give it gas after each shift change; its the only time its quiet.Originally posted by talismanI wonder if there will be a new character that specializes in bjj and passive agressive comebacks?Originally posted by AdamLXIf there was, I wouldn't pick it because it would probably just keep leaving the game and then coming back like nothing happened.Originally posted by BroncojohnnyBecause fuck you, that's whyOriginally posted by 80coupenice dick, Idrivea4bangerOriginally posted by Rick Modena......and idrivea4banger is a real person.Originally posted by JesterMan ive always wanted to smoke a bowl with you. Ok so. The internals of the tranny won't effect the clutch pedal. It won't stop the pedal from coming up. Your problem is in the clutch assembly itself.
When you push in the clutch pedal. You are disengaging the clutch. This allows the tranny to stop spinning . That's why the noise goes away. When you release the pedal its now engaged and is spinning it all around. That's why the noise comes back.
New clutch assembly should solve your problem.

I would hurry. When there is a problem. Shit gets hot. Drive it too long and you will need a tranny also Cus the hearing race will fuse with the unit shaft of the tranny

I'm thinking you have a throw out bearing that's starting to over heat and seize. When it does go (like peetyweestraw said), it'll be ugly. Trans I bought off a guy for my Festiva had a seized throw out bearing and it took DVilleGT and I 3 fucking hours to cut it off and clean up the input shaft sleeve with torches, grinding wheels and metal polish.Originally posted by PGreenCobraI can't get over the fact that you get to go live the rest of your life, knowing that someone made a Halloween costume out of you. I just did a clutch on one just like yours, same setup 95 4cyl. That had the clutch to floor, slave cylinder piston blown out, reason was the TO bearing had worn thru the pressure plate, and was also seized.
Have fun with that mofo, there is a non removable x-member that sits just below the trans tailshaft, so actually pulling it out is a problem, i was able to back it out about 6 inches to put clutch kit in, what a bitch, and i had it on a lift. Oh and the top starter bolt is a motherfucker.

Fuck all that mess....its going to the shop in Friday. I wanted to at least have an idea what the problem could be so i wouldnt get screwed over. Well never got around to fix this issue. I had problems a few days later with it not starting up. Replaced the starter, put new battery and alternator was still good. It drove perfect for about a week with no problems; minus the sounds I described earlier. I went to turn it on tonight and it doesn't want to crank. I checked for loose cables and what not.
I don't have a clue why it won't start up. Lights, radio, etc... all work.Originally posted by talismanI wonder if there will be a new character that specializes in bjj and passive agressive comebacks?Originally posted by AdamLXIf there was, I wouldn't pick it because it would probably just keep leaving the game and then coming back like nothing happened.Originally posted by BroncojohnnyBecause fuck you, that's whyOriginally posted by 80coupenice dick, Idrivea4bangerOriginally posted by Rick Modena......and idrivea4banger is a real person.Originally posted by JesterMan ive always wanted to smoke a bowl with you. Well it started up earlier today. I turned it on and off 4 times within an hour, no problems. I decided to drive it around the block, parked it and turned it off. When I went to start it up, nothing. Tried it 3 more times, nothing. On the 5th time it started. Could it be the clutch switch thats messed up??Originally posted by talismanI wonder if there will be a new character that specializes in bjj and passive agressive comebacks?Originally posted by AdamLXIf there was, I wouldn't pick it because it would probably just keep leaving the game and then coming back like nothing happened.Originally posted by BroncojohnnyBecause fuck you, that's whyOriginally posted by 80coupenice dick, Idrivea4bangerOriginally posted by Rick Modena......and idrivea4banger is a real person.Originally posted by JesterMan ive always wanted to smoke a bowl with you.
