They would probably be on par with an AFR165 head. Should be really decent on a mild 302-331 setup for the street. If they are not on the car and you can get it done for cheap, have the heads milled a little bit to reduce the chamber size and bump the compression ratio a little bit. 56cc-58cc is where you want to be on a pump gas setup with stock type pistons.

True, but they're using compression itself to fire up the car. I'm sure there's a difference between doing that and igniting it through spark.

diesels don't compress an air/fuel mixture dumbass

???? I thought it compresses a mixture of air and fuel to the point that it self-ignites?

it compresses air... diesel is injected into the heated/compressed air

              Derp?

I was saying high boost can be ran with high compression if it's strong enough.

There is no rule that says increase In boost MUST result in lower compression to hold up. If the parts are strong Enough you can do whatever you want.

Btw, I know how a Deisel works.

Unless you have a whole lot of money to spend that's not the way to look at it. Yes, if you build everything out of billet and run race gas you can run lots of boost and compression. But for normal folks there needs to be a balance between compression, boost, timing, and what kind of fuel you are running.

There are a few other factors to keep in mind like camshaft events, combustion chamber shape, material of heads and block, head gasket type and material along with the tune and fuel system. But like you said, for normal folks, dropping the compression ratio down into the 8's is the best option for those running a decent amount of boost.

You can have the strongest components on earth. if you run into preignition/predetonation, you'll tear it up. period.

power is power... doesn't matter if you make 800hp at 10:1 compression or 8:1 compression...

the reason the higher compression makes it easier to "boom bitch" under boost is because of the propensity to detonate... so you mentioning diesels it a total left field argument
