The cam that will work with your 3.55's/stock heads/retain driveability is the cam you want.

I vote for leaving the cam alone, given the rest of the combo, and just install some 1.6 roller rockers.

Spend the rest of the money on 3.90 gears, that'll wake it up.

Because you're currently running a sled/fulcrum design, and a roller fulcrum/roller tip rocker will free up horsepower by reducing friction.

A cam involved fluids, gaskets, cam, time... it adds up. On a set of stock heads, your limitations are in what a stock head can flow, not to mention what your purpose is with the car (daily? 1/8 mile only?).

I would save for heads & cam, do them together, and realize a full benefit.

EDIT: I take it all back, except for the part about the 3.90's, intsall those. Just drive it. You have the right mods. You're at a tipping point of perfect balance vs slippery slope.

having the "largest" cam possible is not always the best idea. with too much duration, close LSA, and Lift you'll lose performance. try and match the cam you want to what your heads are and in my opinion the stock cam is pretty much what you want with stock heads.

lol correct. the n41 has too much duration for stock heads. the n41 is for TF heads, Eddie heads, and gt40s AFM says.

Bigger isn't better when it comes to camshafts. It might sound cool but thats about it. It will have terrible drivability, poor fuel milage and run like shit. Is the car a 5 speed or automatic?

If 5 speed, I would look at the B cam for a nice little pop and decent performance. Be sure to get new springs installed on the heads when swapping out the cam.

If auto, leave the factory cam and add some 1.7's to it unless you plan on replacing the torque convertor with a looser version.

find a set of used heads, longtubes and an intake, decide what you want out of your combo, then get another cam.
