  • going price for gear install labor

I'm needing 4.10 gears installed into a dana 44, I have the gears and spool and can/will buy a master install kit. The axle is pulled and will be taken in without axle shafts, etc. What is the going price to setup ring and pinion gears? Would I be better off letting the install shop supply the master install kit or providing it myself? Not sure if most shops are picky about the install kit.

Noah has done all of my sets - over the years about 5 or so - very reasonable and all installs have had no whine at all.

He goes by slim87 I believe.

Hell I might do that, I have had mixed results just trying to get information from the few local places I have called. They sound over the phone like they are not even interested.

I mean, yeah I know I am being cheap-minded about it, but it is a shitty postal Jeep that I have sank about $800 total into including the V8 Chevy swap. A gear swap wasn't part of the plan until I realized I bought a front axle that was supposed to be 3.73 geared and turns out to be 4.10.
