  • Longtubes on a fox.

Debating putting my bbk longtubes on tomorrow.

    Any tips or pointers?

Does one side go in from the top?

I'll be installing an off road x pipe too.

What gains if any should I see from stock headers and o/r h pipe?

Is it going to be primarily sound change?

Unless im seeing a 40hp gain im sticking with shorties or the headers that face the wrong way.

Its been a few years, but to put my bbks lt on i had to loosen a motor mount to get one down in there. I cant remember what side.

It's a job but worth it! Also probably get some heat wrap for the header by the clutch cable. My old long tubes used to melt my clutch cables.

My car has no smog power steering or a/c, I can change spark plugs with nothing but a socket and ratchet, no extensions needed. So I have a lot of room along side the engine, I was thinking the should go in easy.

But ive never done it before.

Bbk ceramic coated, heat wrap is $$!

i never melted any clutch cables with my bbks. Had a ton of room for the clutch cable.

I would be worried about oil getting on the header wrap. good way to burn your car down

Remove the steering knuckle or whatever its called. loosen motor mounts and jack the motor up. That is how I was able to get mine in. I would do it when you are installing the HCI.
