What are catalytic converters worth from the yards that will buy them? Thank you

  • #2
I took 3 to a recycler recently as I cleaned out the garage. I only got a flat rate of $10 each for them. I expected more but really needed them out from under my feet in the garage. I have another one that I will eventually take for scrap so I'm interested in knowing the better places to go.

You're not going to get much from scrap yards as these guys have shown.

You have to go to places that buy convertors. Scrap yards won't give you shit for them.

just as a reference but it does seem like if you find a place that buys them other than a scrap yard, they can bring some coin

I got 85$ for the cats on a y pipe from a 96 V6 Mustang that was given to me. It was in Sherman also. I've heard that what they're worth depends on what materials are in them.

Imports need more PGM's to bring their engines into EPA acceptable levels.

                    As do some diesels.

(I see what you did there)
