  • T5 swap or stick with aode

    I have a 95 gt with a basic hci with an aode and 4:10's. I plan on making a mostly strip car out if it but plan on keeping ac. I will spray it for now but plan on putting an s-trim. Should I stick with the aode and put a shift kit converter. Or swap in a T5 ?

    keep the auto for drag racing. mike mcgee is your friend

      Sticks fun to drive, but an auto is consistant. I swapped from a TKO to 4r70, pi converter, baumann controller in my 98. If your planning on laying some power down later I think it'll help with driveability.

          While my car will never see the track, I had to make this same decision not long ago.

          I simply rebuilt my AOD, with a shift kit. Can't beat the consistency, and it's still fun to drive. And you can do it with a cup of coffee, not that you should do that at the track.

            Soon as my coupe is running its getting a 4r70w from Mike .
            3 gears are great but OD is way cooler for a cruiser.

                Yeah I guess i am going to stick with the AODE. Anybody know of any shifters that work with the factory console that are worth a damn ?
