2006 f150 lariat 5.4 triton brake problem

just started my truck at home and the brake peddle is very hard. could someone please let me know what it might be. could it be the check valve? it only has 60,000 on it. it acts like no power is getting to the booster..first time for any problems with this thing...HELP

The vacuum line for the booster runs back behind the engine to the intake manifold. They are known to come off. There is a recall for this that may apply to your truck.
